Ah, where do I begin..
The Grumpy Barista has been one of my favourites time and time again.
Simple, delicious and consistent. I never get sick of eating here, and love coming back often thanks to its convenient location and quirky layout.
To share my compilation of experiences, the below are my top choices –
- The Italian Hotpot – I refer to this as the baked eggs. Filled with chorizo, eggs, ricotta cheese and tomato-y goodness, what’s not to love about this dish? Not to mention the sourdough toast is always on point: crunchy edges with a soft, chewy, warm center, mm mmm.
2. The smashed avocado + smoked salmon served on sourdough toast. Again, two beautiful + crunchy slices with a thick spread of creamy avo + fresh, lightly smoked delicious salmon.
3. The bruschetta – offering oxheart tomatoes on sourdough toast (i know, again!) with fresh ricotta cheese, caperberries and microherbs. This is for those mornings where you just want something simple, fresh and clean. Light on the palate and refreshing with a cup of hot coffee.
4. I’ve tried several cronuts/brewnuts/cruffins/etc and I still come back to this one. A simple Nutella, cream filled, oreo sprinkled, choc injected Grumpynut. I can’t even explain how good this deliciously sinful sandwich of sugar is – you just have to trust me and try it yourself!
